NJ Has a Hall of Fame?

Actually, it will someday if all goes according to plan. Yes, and it’s not April 1 so I kind you not, voting is underway for the inaugural NJ Hall of Fame.

Now, the typical nominees are there: Sinatra, Springsteen, Thomas Edison but wouldn’t it be appropriate to induct a few of our really unique attractions. I’m thinking:

Vince Lombardi rest stop — it there any other state that names rest stops.

NJ Turnpike — Let’s face it folks this is what people think of and why should we be ashamed that the most defining part of our state is that we connect New York and Philadelphia. The Romans were famous for their roads, theres’s nothing wrong with that here.

The Jersey Devil — Far and away the best piece of American folklore.

These are just my thoughts for the HOF, which by the way is supposed to be part of the new Meadowlands complex at some point.

Anyway, feel free to pass on your nominees and when JerseyCool becomes part of the nominating comittee we’ll do you right.

Check out the nominees and vote here.
